I was fortunate (?? don't EVER suggest to Crazy that he's too chickenshit to shoot down a friendly on purpose while RTB'ing) enough to partake in a rather epic flight last night with Crazy and Schnidr. It's Day 3 in our ITO - Northern Strike Campaign. The Syrian ground troops have been decimated and our guys have started taking over Damascus and are making their way towards Beirut. Despite being in the waning hours of the campaign, there is still a healthy number of enemy jets in the air as the AI was not tasked with any OCA Strike missions throughout.
After seeing LOTS of Syrian fighters in the air, we quickly fragged a DCA just southwest of Damascus. Taking off was exciting as we were being painted by a MIG-29 as soon as we were in-jet. As we were taxing, we heard someone get hit behind us and then saw a fireball hit the earth a mile away from our position. Then, a second fireball hits the mountain in front of us, just as we roll out onto the runway... buh-bye MIG-29s. BUT, then the inevitable happens when you get excited and frag something to get into the air war... "picture clear".
We ranged 50-60mi northeast of Damascus when suddenly the RWR jumps to life and we've got a flight of MIG-23s inbound. They were escorting a flight of 4 SU-22s. We engaged the 23s and wiped 'em out. The 22s turned and ran for home... and we pursued. Shot 3 of them down, then gunned down the last bastard on the runway just as he was about to taxi off after landing and finally strafed 2 MIG-23s that were trying to scramble from the same base.
Good day at the office, fuel was low from chasing the 22s, so it was time to head home. One the way home we shot down 2 MIG-23s that were just scrambling off a runway, straffed an IL-76 while taxing and then we surprise two MIG-29s between us and home plate. They must have taken off from Sayqal and got turned around at the flot... because they were still loaded to the teeth. A nice dogfight ensues, i almost get capped but Crazy took him off my ass like a pro (had done it earlier in the flight with the 23s as well).
Landed with 0 lbs of fuel and my jet turned off just as a rolled into the hangar.
All said and done, 15 bandit kills confirmed between the 3 of us.

Nice day at the office and thanks for a fun flight boys! Sorry... no pics. Too busy fighting.
